Amaimo Unity Cup 2019/2020

IykBethany Footbal Competition, iykbethany football league, umuri amaimo ikeduru, amaimo ikeduru LGA, Amaimo Unity Cup, Popular Football Competitions in Ikeduru LGA,

Umuri are the current champions of Amaimo.  I am supposed to post this since January but I have been very busy.

Umuri defeated Egbelu  2-0 to emerge winners of the Two Million Naira 2019/2020 Amaimo Unity Cup sponsored by IykAnthony Foundation. Amaimo is one of the major towns in Ikeduru LGA, Imo State.

My name is Ikechukwu but you can just called me iyk for short. I am an entrepreneur and by the Grace of God, I am the CEO of IykBethany Group of Companies Limited {https://iykbethanygroup.com}. I dedicate 20% of our profit to support my Charity Foundation {https://iykanthonyfoundation.org/}, a  nonprofit, Non-Governmental Organization whose mission is to help and empower people with knowledge, skills, scholarship and financial assistance.

I was born and raised in Amaimo so I understand the village and its problems very well. Over the last 15 years I have been doing my best to help as many people as possible.  From time to time we organize Street feeding initiatives, community outreaches, scholarships, skills acquisition programs and financial assistance to set up small-scale business. It pains me that I cannot help all the people that genuinely need help but the most important thing is that I am doing something.

MY FUTURE PLANS AND DREAMS: I feel bad that when you look at our movie industry there is no top actor or actress that is from my Amaimo. Same thing in Super Eagles and Super Falcons. So I have plans to set up an entertainment company in Owerri or Port Harcourt next year, and my plan is to discover some of our brothers and sisters who are good in acting. So we will identify them and push them to the top. I am not a politician, and I am NOT doing any of these for any hidden agenda, I am doing it so we can lift many people out of poverty.

I also have same plan for our brothers that play good football. I am aware that there are many hidden talents in the villages but who will discover them? Many times our people complain about robbery, drug abuse and many social vices. Most people just complain without doing something. I am a blogger and I wrote an interesting article on this subject: https://iykbethanygistville.com/2020/02/14/critize-do-something/ . I don’t support criminality of any kind but many of these boys are frustrated and when you are frustrated you can do anything out of frustration.

Amaimo Unity Cup is my 10 year commitment to identify, train, mentor and project football stars from Amaimo Ancient Kingdom. I want to see some of these boys play professional football in top leagues around the world. I am doing all these without expecting anything in return.

VISION & MISSION: To identify, nurture and project football stars from Amaimo Acient Kingdom to top leagues in the world.

The 2019/2020 Amaimo Unity Cup is the 3rd edition of this laudable project. Since we started this competition we discovered that crime has reduced. We found out that many of these boys will not have time to steal or do drugs if they have something reasonable to do. But when they are idle they can do anything out of ignorance or frustration. An idle mind is the devils workshop.
